TikToker speaks on October 7: "Only the traitors suffered"
The influencer who sparked outrage with her statements on national tragedies has uploaded an apology video, but refused to fully retract her harsh claims.
A storm is raging on social media following statements by a TikToker whose videos reach hundreds of thousands of views. In a recent clip, the influencer presented an extreme theory blaming the victims themselves for the national disasters that have befallen the Jewish people.
In her remarks, she asked: "Why was there a Holocaust? Because the Jews forgot who they were and went along with everyone else." Directly following this, she referred to the October 7 disaster: "Why was there an October 7? Who was hurt on 7.10? Only the traitors who celebrated the deaths of Gazans two months prior." She added a warning: "Whoever thinks that God is a sucker, know that God is the King of the world, not anyone's sucker. Whoever makes a mistake will pay for it; He created the devil not to be the King of the world, but to deceive you and test who is reliable and who is not."
These harsh words sparked a wave of protest, angry reactions, and calls for a boycott. Following the backlash, the TikToker rushed to upload an apology video, but her attempt to cool the spirits only added fuel to the fire.
In her follow-up, she chose not to fully retract the connection she made between the disasters and the behavior of the victims, focusing instead on her choice of words. "I am sure that those who live my way of life can understand what I meant, but it is important for me to explain that I should not have used the word 'leftists'," she said.
She claimed that she knew "great leftists" whose parents served in the army, and emphasized: "I will protect every Jew with my body without exception." According to her, the message of her original words was distorted: "My point is completely different; basically, as a Jewish people, we need to remember where we came from and who we are." She concluded her apology by stating: "But again, it's all a matter of opinion."
The incident raises complex questions regarding the boundaries of social media discourse and the distance between expressing an opinion, incitement, victim blaming, and harming the dignity of the fallen. As of now, the videos continue to accumulate tens of thousands of views, and the online storm is far from over.
