Reshet 13 star slams production: "We were slapped in the face by excessive editing"

Social media star Michael Sapir, who participated alongside his wife, Shiran, in the popular 2018 Reshet 13 reality show "Winning Couple," claims that the program did not accurately reflect their reality.

In the "VIPodcast" hosted by Ifat Haleli Avraham, Sapir recalled the concerns he had before agreeing to join the show:

"Shiran insisted we do it. I told her: 'They will eat you alive. Your kindness won't let you be mean; you can't backstab people. We don't know how to lie.'"

Sapir did not hold back his criticism of the production team, pointing specifically to the editing process:

"How did it happen that the show portrayed me as controlling Shiran, making her look like a miserable puppet living in my shadow? You know, even here on this podcast, if you edit it right, I could become the most arrogant and evil person in the world. Everything depends on the editing."

To illustrate the gap between reality and the broadcast, Sapir shared a specific example from a physical challenge:

"That was a slap in the face. I didn't even want to watch the program because I was so hurt. We were using a crane, and I didn't think she could do it. I was shouting, 'Come on, my life! You're a champion!' but in the show, it was edited to sound like: 'Come on, come on, come on...'"

Reflecting on the experience, Sapir explained how the aftermath of the show affected them, but emphasized that they choose to remain true to their nature:

"That’s where I got angry. It’s about our kindness as people. We are often the ones people step on or try to humiliate. But I always smile and say, 'If that makes you feel good, go ahead.' It doesn't move me because you don't influence me."
