Alongside the possibility that has been raised of reserving a spot for her in the Likud, news anchor Netali Shem Tov also met with former minister Gilad Erdan, who offered her to join his party. Shem Tov refused Erdan's offer. This was learned by Ynet.
According to sources, it is unclear whether the possibility of reserving a spot for Shem Tov in the Likud will come to fruition. Insofar as the Likud decides definitively to offer her a reserved spot, she will not rule it out of hand. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not yet finalized his candidates for reserved spots, and even if the move is carried out, it is unclear what place will be offered to the former Keshet and Reshet anchor, and whether she will agree to join.
Shem Tov, a resident of Metula who was evacuated from her home during the war, is identified with the north and the periphery. These days, she is conducting a legal and media battle against Channel 13 News regarding her dismissal from the company. Shem Tov and Erdan did not provide a response to the report.
Erdan, who is expected to announce the establishment of his new party in the coming days, has published two political responses in the last day. Netanyahu, who received the option for eight reserved spots in a realistic place, wants to place in the Likud list candidates who will bring him those disappointed by the current coalition, mainly against the backdrop of the partnership with the Haredim, and who are considering voting for parties that include Benny Gantz, Dadi Simhi, Gilad Erdan, Chili Tropper, and Yoaz Hendel. One of the eight reserved spots will be given to Gideon Sa'ar, and within the framework of the agreement with New Hope, it is possible that the Deputy Foreign Minister, MK Michel Buskila, will also be reserved in the Likud list. It is not impossible that Netanyahu will be forced to give reserved spots to ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, whom he is trying to unite, or to other candidates on the right with the intention of preventing them from running separately and wasting votes.
In the past, we reported that Netanyahu is pressuring Ron Dermer to agree to a reserved spot in the Likud, but the former minister is refusing for now firmly due to his family's opposition.
