Ramat Gan resident arrested for attacking News 12 offices
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of throwing stones at the entrance of the News 12 offices and leaving a threatening letter targeting public figures and journalists. The investigation was conducted in cooperation with the Shin Bet, and a previously imposed gag order was lifted today.
The Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police arrested a Ramat Gan resident in his 40s today, Thursday, on suspicion of throwing stones at the entrance doors of the News 12 offices in Tel Aviv and leaving a threatening letter there, apparently directed at public figures and media personnel.
The incident was discovered on the morning of July 28 during a routine patrol by Tel Aviv District police officers. They noticed that the glass of the entrance door to the building, located on HaHaskala Boulevard, had been damaged. A threatening letter was found near the entrance.
The investigation was conducted by the Tel Aviv Central Unit in cooperation with the Ayalon Unit and the Shin Bet. A gag order was imposed during the investigation, which was lifted today. According to the police, the suspect caused the damage by throwing stones at the doors, left the letter, and fled the scene.
Investigative actions led to the identification of the suspect. Detectives from the Tel Aviv Central Unit located and arrested him, and he has been transferred for questioning. Authorities are currently examining whether there is a connection to previous incidents involving damage to the building's doors.
