Producer sues Kanye West: 'I worked on songs and received nothing'

A music producer is suing Kanye West, claiming he worked on the album Vultures 2 on a tight schedule but never received payment or credit. According to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the producer filed the claim anonymously.

According to the lawsuit, the producer was brought on to work on August 1, 2024, just two days before the album's release. He claims that West personally managed the recording sessions, while he created more than 400 vocal versions and at least 13 custom AI voice models.

The producer claims his tasks included vocal restoration, converting performances into simulated voices of other artists, and using his recordings as source material and in some of the final masters. According to him, his work was included in five songs on Vultures 2. Later, he claims, he also worked on two songs that were released from West's Bully album, along with several unreleased songs.

According to the plaintiff, West's team acknowledged his work in late 2024, discussed updating his credits on digital streaming platforms, and even offered him a buyout deal for the masters — but the money and credits never arrived. He claims he repeatedly reached out to West's people to receive payment, but has yet to be compensated.

In the lawsuit, he is demanding at least $110,000 for the seven released songs — $80,000 for Vultures 2 and $30,000 for Bully — along with additional damages for the work on the unreleased songs. He is also asking the court to compel West's companies to give him proper credit on streaming platforms. TMZ reached out to West for comment, but no response has been received so far.
