An incident initially reported as a traffic accident near Beit She'an has turned out to be a severe assault, police stated. As part of the investigation, two minors were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the act.

The incident began on the morning of July 19, when a report was received at the police station regarding a young man found on a walking path near the Kantara parking lot in Beit She'an with a head injury, with his electric scooter beside him. The victim was evacuated in serious condition to HaEmek Hospital and later transferred to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where he remains sedated and intubated.

Northern District police officers and traffic accident investigators arrived at the scene at the time to clarify the circumstances. However, following developments in the investigation in recent days, a suspicion arose that the victim had been brutally attacked. On Tuesday, the two minor suspects were arrested, and on Wednesday, the police will request to extend their detention at the Magistrate's Court in Tiberias.
