Israeli stabbed at music festival in Hungary, two citizens arrested for drug trafficking

An Israeli citizen in his 30s was stabbed early Tuesday morning at the Ozora music festival in Hungary. Local police arrested three suspects in the attack, and authorities confirmed that the victim's condition stabilized following his hospitalization.

In a separate incident, two Israeli citizens—one of whom is a survivor of the Nova festival—were arrested on suspicion of attempting to sell drugs to an undercover detective operating at the event. Following the stabbing, local police stated that security forces at the site have been reinforced and that they will continue to conduct increased checks in coordination with event organizers to ensure the safety of attendees. The suspects are being questioned regarding their involvement in a serious assault and the infliction of grievous bodily harm. This is not the first such incident at the festival; last year, a 26-year-old man was wounded on the final day of the event by another Israeli citizen.

Regarding the drug-related arrests, one of the suspects is a survivor of the October 7 Nova festival and reportedly suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Attorney Mordechai Tzivin, who specializes in assisting Israelis arrested abroad, stated:

"From my experience in Hungary, the young men were lucky that the incident did not occur during the previous administration. It is to be assumed that in the current political situation, law enforcement authorities will act in a standard, independent, fair, and pressure-free manner, as in European Union countries. This will certainly also be reflected in the protection of the rights of the detainees."
