Man aged about 70 drowns at Mikhmoret beach
The man entered the water with his partner and was pulled out unconscious minutes later; MADA teams were forced to pronounce his death at the scene.
A man aged about 70 drowned today, Sunday, at Mikhmoret beach in the Sharon region. According to reports, the man was pulled from the water near the shore while unconscious. MADA medics and paramedics performed resuscitation efforts, but were ultimately forced to pronounce his death at the scene.
Senior medic from MADA's motorcycle unit, Maor Branch, described the incident: "When we arrived at the beach, we saw the man lying near the water line while lifeguards were providing initial medical treatment. We continued the medical procedures, but he had no pulse and was not breathing. We immediately performed resuscitation efforts, at the end of which, unfortunately, we were forced to pronounce his death at the scene."
Head of the ZAKA Netanya team, Shai Romano, who arrived at the scene with other volunteers, stated that the victim was part of a couple in their 70s who had arrived for a vacation and entered the water together. Minutes later, the man drowned and was pulled out unconscious. ZAKA volunteers are currently working alongside police forces to ensure the dignity of the deceased. The body will be transferred to the National Center of Forensic Medicine for further handling and investigation.
