75-year-old man found stabbed in Tel Aviv: suspect arrested
A 75-year-old man was found on Levinsky Street with penetrating wounds and was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in serious but stable condition. Shortly thereafter, a 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault, and police are seeking to extend her detention.
A man aged approximately 75 was seriously injured today in a criminal incident on Levinsky Street in Tel Aviv. He was found conscious, suffering from penetrating wounds, and was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in serious but stable condition. The report was received at 16:38 at the MADA 101 emergency call center in the Dan region.
MADA paramedic Inbar Green and senior medic Georgi Avetisyan stated:
"We saw the victim fully conscious, suffering from severe penetrating wounds. We provided life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition."
The initial report to MADA was made by a citizen who spotted the elderly man injured on the street.
Police officers from the Sharett station (Ayalon region) and forensic investigators arrived at the scene to collect evidence. As the victim is currently unable to communicate due to the severity of his injuries, police are working to secure security camera footage and gather testimonies. Initial suspicions point to a criminal motive.
Shortly after the incident, officers from the Sharett station, in cooperation with the Tel Aviv municipality's SELA patrols, arrested a 27-year-old female suspect. She has been transferred for questioning. It has been noted that the suspect is homeless and had no prior connection to the victim. Police will request an extension of her detention in court.
