Senior Municipal Official in Central Israel Arrested for Sexual Offenses
A senior municipal official in central Israel was arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against a subordinate. Police are seeking to release his name to identify potential further victims.

A senior municipal official in the center of the country was arrested this morning, Wednesday, on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against a municipal employee. Later today, he will be brought to the Magistrate's Court in Rishon LeZion for a detention hearing. The police will also request permission to publish the suspect's name to identify any additional victims.
The investigation began following a complaint received by the Central District police from a municipal employee, which prompted a covert investigation. Once sufficient evidence was gathered, the investigation became overt, and the suspect was arrested by investigators from the police fraud unit.
Earlier this week, a 50-year-old resident of Netanya, who works as a teacher at a hostel in Kfar Saba, was arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against residents aged 30 to 40 staying at the institution. According to the allegations, he committed the offenses over approximately two years during his employment, which ended last month.
In parallel, the State Attorney's Office has filed an indictment at the Tel Aviv District Court against 27-year-old Mohammed al-Naqib, a math teacher from Lod, for committing sexual offenses against a 12-year-old student. Along with the indictment, a request was submitted to extend his detention until the end of the legal proceedings.
