Tel Aviv resident charged with stealing three scooters
A 35-year-old man from central Israel is suspected of committing a series of thefts over the past two months. He was caught riding a Vespa stolen minutes earlier from the Gordon Pool area. Police have requested that he remain in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
An indictment has been filed against a 35-year-old Tel Aviv resident suspected of stealing three scooters across the city. Police have requested that he remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
According to the indictment and the investigation conducted over recent months, the defendant stole a delivery driver's scooter on June 18 after it was parked near a restaurant on Nachalat Yitzhak Street. Three days later, on June 21, he allegedly stole another scooter parked on the same street during the afternoon.
The third incident occurred on August 14. The defendant was apprehended while riding on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv on a Vespa that had been stolen minutes earlier from the Gordon Pool area near the coastline. Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station arrested him and transferred him for questioning.
During the investigation, police gathered evidence linking the defendant to all three thefts. The owners of the scooters were summoned to the station, and their property was returned to them.
The suspect's detention was extended multiple times, and yesterday the Tel Aviv District Prosecution Unit filed an indictment covering all three counts of theft. A request was also submitted to keep the defendant in custody until the end of the trial.
