A 44-year-old resident of Modi'in Illit was arrested on suspicion of threatening the commander of the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan police station through statements posted in a WhatsApp group. The Magistrate's Court in Tel Aviv extended his detention today, Thursday, until Sunday, August 9.
The investigation was opened at the Mesubim station after information was received about threatening messages posted in a WhatsApp group and directed at the commander of the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan police station.
As part of the investigation, officers managed to locate the suspect yesterday. He was arrested and brought for questioning at the Mesubim station, at the end of which he was remanded in custody.
The police emphasize that they view with severity any threat or incitement directed at police officers and public servants, and that they will act with determination to bring to justice anyone who attempts to intimidate them while they are performing their duties. The investigation is ongoing.
