Hatzor HaGlilit resident attacks foreign worker with glass bottle over 'touching his hand'
A 41-year-old resident of Hatzor HaGlilit has been indicted for attacking a foreign worker during an argument. The defendant allegedly smashed a glass bottle on the victim's head, claiming it was a reaction to the victim 'touching his hand'. Prosecutors have requested he remain in custody until the end of the trial.
An indictment has been filed against a 41-year-old resident of Hatzor HaGlilit following an alleged attack on an Eritrean refugee with a glass bottle during a dispute.
The incident took place on August 10 in Hatzor HaGlilit. Police officers responding to a report arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from injuries. According to investigation materials, the defendant smashed a glass bottle over the victim's head during an argument. The suspect claimed the attack was triggered because the victim 'touched his hand', though the full circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
Following further investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested at his home. His detention was extended multiple times by the Magistrate's Court in Nof HaGalil-Nazareth. Upon completion of the investigation, the prosecution branch in Kiryat Shmona filed the indictment, alongside a request to keep the defendant in custody until the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
