Worshiper collapses, medic uses defibrillator to save his life

The Ichud Hatzalah spokesperson's office released dramatic footage today, Thursday, from a Chabad synagogue in the Nachlat Har Chabad neighborhood of Kiryat Malachi. About a month and a half ago, Roni Nakash collapsed during prayer. He suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, causing panic among those present. Elandiv Tam, a volunteer medic with Ichud Hatzalah who was also praying at the site, noticed the emergency and rushed to act.

Elandiv did not hesitate for a moment; he jumped from his seat and ran toward Roni, who was lying on the floor without a pulse or breathing. While calling for additional emergency support via his radio, he immediately began intensive resuscitation efforts using a defibrillator. A few minutes later, additional volunteers arrived at the scene to assist until Roni's heart began beating again. He was subsequently evacuated to the hospital in stable condition.

This remarkable story reached an emotional peak last week during the wedding of Elandiv's son. In the middle of the event, a very special guest was waiting for the surprised medic: Roni Nakash himself. He arrived healthy and well, standing on his own feet to thank the man who saved his life. The moving encounter between the two brought great joy to everyone in the hall, serving as a beautiful conclusion to a story of kindness and gratitude.
