A brush fire has spread to both banks of the Yarkon River in Ramat Gan, and seven firefighting teams are operating on several fronts. Due to the proximity of the fire to the train tracks, train traffic in the area has been halted, and the public is requested to avoid arriving at the scene.
Seven firefighting and rescue teams are operating on several fronts following a brush fire that broke out this evening, Wednesday, in the Yarkon River area in Ramat Gan, between the Ramat Gan Stadium and the training stadium behind the Ayalon Mall, near the Maccabiah Bridge. The fire spread to both banks of the river due to brush and dry grass. Due to the proximity of the fire to the train tracks, train traffic in the area has been halted, and the public is requested to avoid arriving at the scene.
In an official statement, the Fire and Rescue Authority spokesperson noted:
"At this moment, seven firefighting and rescue teams are operating on several fronts in a brush fire between the Ramat Gan Stadium and the training stadium behind the Ayalon Mall, near the Maccabiah Bridge. The fire spread to both banks of the river due to brush and dry grass. Due to the proximity of the fire to the train tracks, train traffic in the area has been halted. The public is requested to avoid arriving at the scene."
Israel Railways issued the following statement:
"Due to a fire near the tracks in the Bnei Brak area, train traffic has been halted. There are delays and changes in train traffic in the area and at the Sharon Ring stations. Train traffic will resume as scheduled upon receiving approval from the firefighting authorities."
