A resident of Netanya in his 50s who works as a teacher at a hostel in Kfar Saba was arrested yesterday on suspicion of committing sexual offenses against residents staying at the institution. At the end of a hearing held this morning, Monday, at the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva, his detention was extended by four days, until Thursday.

The covert investigation at the Kfar Saba police station in the Sharon district was opened in recent weeks, following the receipt of a complaint regarding a teacher who committed sexual offenses against residents in their 30s and 40s. According to the suspicion, he committed the offenses over a period of about two years during his employment, which ended last month.

Meanwhile, the State Attorney's Office filed an indictment earlier today at the Tel Aviv District Court against Mohammed al-Naqib, a 27-year-old math teacher from Lod, for committing sexual offenses against a 12-year-old student. With the filing of the indictment, a request was also submitted to extend his detention until the end of the proceedings.
