A blow to drivers in Israel: The main road will be closed to traffic starting next week
Due to infrastructure works for the construction of a bridge, one of the main traffic arteries in Israel is expected to be hermetically closed for an entire night. The driving public is requested to stay updated in advance on traffic changes and to travel via alternative routes.
The transport sector in Israel continues to upgrade and launch routes aimed at facilitating travel for the public. In this context, the company "Netivei Ayalon" announced that on the night between Monday and Tuesday (August 3-4) between 00:00 and 05:00 the following morning, the Ayalon Highway North will be hermetically closed to vehicle traffic.
The section to be closed is the segment between the Rokach Interchange and the KKL Interchange, due to works for the installation of signage bridges as part of the "Fast Lanes" project of the Ministry of Transport and Netivei Ayalon.
Drivers are requested to use navigation applications and travel via alternative routes. Furthermore, traffic will be diverted to the exit from Ayalon North to the Rokach Interchange, and entry to Highway 20 northbound will be possible from the KKL Interchange as usual.
As a reminder, the congestion charge project is expected to begin operating in 2028, and it will divide Gush Dan into three main rings around Tel Aviv: outer, middle, and inner, with the payment amount varying throughout the day. During peak morning hours, between 06:30 and 10:00, the payment will be 10 shekels for crossing each ring. During afternoon peak hours, between 15:00 and 19:00, the payment will be reduced to 2.5 shekels on the outer ring, and 5 shekels on the middle and inner rings, with the daily billing cap set at 37.5 shekels.
