Inspector attacked by teenagers after requesting fare payment: bus line suspended today

A group of teenagers attacked a bus inspector who asked them to disembark after discovering they had not paid for their trip. The incident has led to a service suspension on the line connecting Jerusalem as an act of solidarity.

Passengers on line 134 of the "Derech Egged" company, which connects Jerusalem and Givat Ze'ev, will face a two-hour service interruption today, Thursday. The line will be suspended between 13:00 and 15:00 following an attack on the company's inspector that occurred overnight.

According to the company, the inspector asked the group of teenagers to leave the bus after discovering they had not validated their fare. At that point, the confrontation escalated, and the teenagers attacked him.

As a result of the assault, the inspector sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. A formal complaint regarding the incident has been filed with the police.

Following the event, the company decided to suspend operations on line 134 for two hours. Consequently, there will be no service on this route between 13:00 and 15:00, and passengers planning to travel between Jerusalem and Givat Ze'ev during these hours are advised to find alternative transportation.

This incident once again highlights the issue of violence against public transport workers, who are frequently forced to deal with hostile confrontations while performing their duties. In this instance, a dispute over fare payment resulted in an employee's hospitalization and the suspension of an entire bus route.
