A 54-year-old driver from Tayibe was arrested on Highway 60 in the north after a check by National Traffic Police officers revealed that he was driving while disqualified — for the seventh time.
The driver was stopped for a routine check as part of focused enforcement activity by the 'Amakim' traffic unit. During the inspection, it was discovered that he was knowingly driving in violation of a court order.
It also emerged that the vehicle he was driving was under a prohibition of use due to safety defects. The driver was transferred for questioning by traffic investigators and was subsequently arrested. During the hearing to extend his detention, the court accepted the police's position and ordered that he remain in custody until the end of the proceedings.
The police stated that the driver repeatedly violates judicial decisions and poses a real danger to road users. The vehicle was impounded on the spot. This enforcement activity was carried out as part of the 'Committed to Life' operation by the Traffic Division and the National Road Safety Authority, which includes increased traffic patrols across the country.
