Popular singer to stand trial for murder and dismemberment of 14-year-old girl
Following the revelation of compelling evidence, including DNA results and incriminating correspondence, a court has ruled that the American singer will stand trial for the murder and dismemberment of a 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing.
American singer and TikToker David Anthony Burke, known by his stage name D4vd, has shocked the public after being arrested on suspicion of murdering a 14-year-old girl who had been declared missing about a year ago. The charges were filed after the victim's remains were discovered in a Tesla belonging to the artist.
On Tuesday, a Los Angeles court ruled that the singer will stand trial for the murder and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The judge determined there was sufficient evidence to proceed to trial, filing a first-degree murder indictment against him.
During the hearing, graphic evidence was presented, including photos of the girl's dismembered body in the vehicle's trunk. According to the prosecution, after the murder, the singer purchased two body bags, a shovel, and three chainsaws. Air fresheners were also found in the car. Furthermore, blood stains in the trunk matched the victim's DNA. Investigators also uncovered correspondence in which the singer demanded that the girl terminate a pregnancy he had allegedly caused.
As previously reported, the girl's body was found on September 8 at a tow yard in Hollywood following reports of an unusual odor emanating from the vehicle. According to court documents, on September 8, 2025, investigators discovered her head and upper torso in a state of decomposition inside a body bag in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd's address in Texas. The cause of death has not yet been determined, though reports suggest the body may have been in the vehicle for several weeks.
