Bus collided with a car on Highway 90, a young man was killed
The accident occurred near the Beit HaArava junction. MADA teams pronounced the car driver dead at the scene and evacuated the bus driver to the hospital in light condition.
A young man in his 20s was killed this morning, Friday, in a traffic accident involving a private car and a bus on Highway 90, near the Beit HaArava junction in the Jericho area. The bus driver, who was not carrying any passengers, sustained light injuries.
At 06:31, a report was received at the MADA 101 emergency center regarding the collision. Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene found the car driver trapped, unconscious, without a pulse, and not breathing, suffering from multi-system trauma. After medical examinations, they were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.
The bus driver, a 66-year-old man, received treatment at the scene and was evacuated by a MADA ambulance to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in light condition.
MADA paramedic Menachem Rusak stated:
"This is a shocking traffic accident between a bus empty of passengers and a private car. The car driver was trapped, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with multi-system trauma. We performed medical examinations, but his injuries were severe and we had to pronounce his death at the scene. At the same time, teams provided medical treatment to the bus driver, and we then evacuated him by MADA ambulance to the hospital in light condition."
The police stated:
"Officers from the Jordan Valley station, traffic division officers, and traffic accident investigators from the Judea and Samaria district are at the scene of the accident to investigate its circumstances. Following the accident, at this stage, Highway 90 in the area between Beit HaArava and Qasr al-Yahud is blocked to vehicle traffic in both directions."
