Friend of the late Binyamin Razi on the claims of those accused of murder: "I hope they stop lying and say what really happened there"
Matanya was in an apartment in Jerusalem during the murder of his friend and claims that the accused's testimonies regarding violence by Binyamin are untrue: "Lies and deceit, they think it will lighten their sentence." According to Matanya, he clearly remembers the video call that took place in the apartment. Matanya himself was stabbed during the murder incident and was the one who called Magen David Adom.
Matanya, a friend of the late Binyamin Razi who was in the apartment during the murder, responded Friday in a conversation with N12 to the version of the accused, who claimed they experienced violence from Binyamin and that he even locked them inside the apartment.
"It is a lie and deceit. There was no such thing ever, — he says. — They are just trying to spread claims because they think it will lighten their sentence. Binyamin never hit them, never attacked them, and certainly did not lock them up."
According to Matanya, these claims were raised by the accused as an attempt to lighten their sentence: "This is what they have left in the end." Matanya clearly remembers the video call they made in the apartment, and he refutes the claims that they asked him to apologize: "Linor Sasson wanted to see him. She said: 'Show me, show me that guy,' and then they attacked him immediately."
Matanya himself was stabbed and wounded in his hand. He tried to stop Binyamin's bleeding and call rescue forces in his final moments. In the recording of his call to Magen David Adom, he is heard screaming: "Binyamin! I am pressing on his wound. He was stabbed, I don't know if he is conscious. Come quickly."
According to the indictment, Agam Tsarfi and Shilat Huta rented the apartment for the weekend and invited Binyamin and Matanya. After two and a half days of hanging out, Agam and Shilat raised claims that the boys were violent towards them and drove to the apartment of Linor Sasson, whom they had not known before.
"In Linor's apartment, the girls started to incite the event," Superintendent Rotem Hilla Zaken, who was in charge of the investigation, told N12. "We see an organization that includes arming with assault tools like clubs, knives, and a meat tenderizer."
Agam Tsarfi admitted in her police interrogation: "One of them hit Beni with a hammer on the head and another one hit an iron club on the head of Beni and Matanya." Superintendent Zaken revealed that during the investigation, they caught Agam in a hallway conversation saying that if she were not in detention, she would have planned the next murder.
"Agam watches the attack on Binyamin and Matanya in a live video call and some of the time even smiles," Zaken says. "When Agam arrives for interrogation, she plays a game that 'I didn't even know he was dead.' But we know she is lying."
Superintendent Zaken emphasizes that there is not a drop of remorse in her behavior. "Linor Sasson is a mother who drives her son to commit murder and after the murder tries to obstruct the investigation and help him escape," Zaken continued. "She instructs all the partners to the event on what needs to be done and tells them clearly: everyone needs to flee from Jerusalem."
