15-year-old caught driving a car, his relative: 'I wanted the child to learn to drive'

Traffic police officers in the Judea and Samaria District stopped a vehicle this morning (Wednesday) for inspection, which was being driven by a 15-year-old Palestinian teenager who had never obtained a driver's license. Sitting next to him was his 30-year-old relative, who, according to the police, allowed him to drive and claimed: 'I wanted the child to learn to drive.'
The vehicle was stopped near the Sa'ir-Halhul junction on Highway 60, during an operation by the Judea District Traffic Division as part of the 'White Line' operation to eradicate serious traffic offenses and locate drivers who endanger road users. A traffic proceeding was opened against the teenager and his relative.
At the end of a hearing conducted by a police officer, the license of the 30-year-old who allowed the minor to drive was revoked, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The officer of the Judea District Traffic Division, Chief Inspector Michael Avraham, stated:
'A minor whose age is too young to learn or receive a driver's license legally is receiving a 'lesson' from his relative, who, among other things, was not authorized to teach driving. Through their serious actions, the two endangered the public of drivers and road users.'
