14-Year-Old Rescued from Steep Slope in Nahal El Al
A teenager from Jerusalem was rescued after getting stuck on a steep slope during a family hike. Volunteers from the Golan Search and Rescue Unit safely assisted him back to the trail using a safety rope.
A 14-year-old teenager from Jerusalem was rescued safely on Monday after getting stuck in a steep spot during a hike in Nahal El Al in the Golan Heights. The teenager was hiking with his family when he reached a point where he realized that attempting to continue the descent on his own could be dangerous. He called for help, and his family members and other hikers in the area alerted the police.
Following the report, volunteers from the Israel Police Golan Search and Rescue Unit were dispatched to the scene. The rescuers reached the teenager, secured him with a rope, and assisted him during the safe descent back to the marked trail. After the rescue, the teenager was able to continue his journey on his own, unharmed.
The search and rescue unit reminds hikers to adhere to safety rules: "Hike only on marked trails and do not risk descending into unsafe places. In any case where you get into trouble, stay where you are, dial 100, and the volunteers of the search and rescue units will arrive to assist."
