A surprising surge in demand has marked a new industrial land tender in the Arava region, specifically in the community of Tzukim. The Israel Land Authority (ILA) successfully marketed all 12 plots spanning approximately 33.5 dunams, signaling rare commercial momentum in the southern desert.

Industrial Expansion in the Arava

It is unusual for tenders of this scale to be issued in the Arava, where major land marketing has been largely dormant since August 2022. The Tzukim tender falls under the 2010 master plan, designating the area for light industry, clean manufacturing, offices, and auxiliary facilities. A total of 75 bids were submitted for the 12 plots, reflecting robust interest from businesses.

Winners of the plots include Climatex Solarko, Pilo & Sons Building and Investments, Eilat Assets, and several other regional entities. The total revenue for the ILA reached approximately 7.3 million shekels, averaging out to roughly 220,000 shekels per dunam including development costs.

Growth in Tzukim

Tzukim is a small community located roughly 100 kilometers north of Eilat, currently home to about 390 residents with plans to expand to 500. While the Arava region rarely sees high-volume land releases, historical data shows steady interest in Tzukim's commercial and industrial tenders over the past decade.

The successful completion of this tender proves that regional demand remains strong, providing much-needed infrastructure for local enterprises outside the residential sector.
