A 53-year-old woman was seriously injured late Friday evening after being shot near her home in the Lower Galilee town of Tur'an. She was evacuated to the Tsafon Medical Center (Poriya) suffering from penetrating wounds, as police launched an investigation into a suspected criminal assassination attempt.

The incident began late in the evening when shots were fired toward a residence in the town. The local resident was wounded and initially brought to a local clinic for first aid. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams called to the clinic stabilized her condition and transported her to the hospital.

MDA medics Idan Avshalom and Yanai Nissimian described the scene: "We met the woman while she was fully conscious and suffering from severe penetrating injuries across her body. We provided life-saving medical treatment and evacuated her in an intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition."

Police officers arriving at the scene initiated searches to locate the suspects involved in the shooting and began gathering evidence. Police stated that the incident stems from a criminal dispute and the circumstances are currently under investigation.

The shooting in Tur'an concludes a bloody weekend across the country. Earlier on Friday, within just nine minutes, five people were injured in two separate violent incidents. Near the Qalandiya checkpoint in the Jerusalem area, three men were wounded, including a 25-year-old whose condition was defined as serious and unstable. Shortly afterward, at the entrance to Rahat in the south, two additional men were shot and evacuated to Soroka Medical Center, one of them in moderate condition.
