Duane "Keefe D" Davis, the 63-year-old former leader of the Crips gang, was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison up to life for planning the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas. For nearly three decades, fans spread countless conspiracies as the high-profile case remained cold until the breakthrough leading to his conviction.

Prosecutors established that while Davis did not fire the weapon that killed Shakur, he orchestrated the shooting and provided the firearm used by his nephew, Orlando Anderson. The murder was executed as retaliation following an altercation between Anderson and Shakur just hours prior in Las Vegas.

Following a jury trial in Las Vegas that found Davis guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, the landmark verdict closes one of the most notorious unsolved mysteries in music history. Davis has already indicated his intention to appeal the court's decision.
