Trump Jokes About WNBA with Rodman and Kanter

US President Donald Trump joked about transgender athletes in women's sports during a rally in Durant, Oklahoma, featuring former basketball players Dennis Rodman and Enes Kanter Freedom.

"We are banning all men, except for Dennis Rodman and Freedom," Trump told the crowd. "They are the only two men we will allow to participate in women's sports."

Turning to Kanter Freedom, Trump added: "Where is Freedom? Please stand up. Honestly, this guy is a monster. He dreams of playing against women. He is even willing to say he is a woman to play against women. I don't think he really believes in it, but that's okay."

Trump joked that he would grant them a "full pardon" to compete in the WNBA. Kanter Freedom recently announced his intention to enter the 2027 WNBA draft as a protest against league policies.

Rodman's Diplomatic Past and Trump's Praise

Dennis Rodman also accompanied Trump during a visit to a truck plant in Texas. Trump praised the former Chicago Bulls star as the "greatest rebounder in history" and recalled Rodman's past visits to North Korea.

"When I wanted to get to know Kim Jong Un, when we had problems... the person who knew him best was Dennis Rodman," Trump said during the tour.

Rodman previously traveled to North Korea multiple times between 2013 and 2017, developing a relationship with Kim Jong Un. Trump noted that Rodman helped him understand the North Korean leader ahead of their diplomatic meetings.
