Sad and begging for drugs: Footage from Liam Payne's final hours revealed
The final hours of the former One Direction star: the drug and alcohol binge, the alarming WhatsApp messages from hotel staff, the request to obtain cocaine — and the meeting with sex workers moments before he fell to his death. New footage now being revealed sheds a disturbing light on what transpired.

New photos and details from the official investigation file of the Argentine police — no less than 3,000 documents and images — present a difficult picture of what happened on the tragic night when former One Direction star Liam Payne met his death at just 31 years old. The new documentation reveals the collapse leading to death step by step: in one of the disturbing photos from that October 2024 weekend, Payne is seen swaying and circling a pillar in the hotel lobby during an alcohol and drug binge the night before his death. Payne fell from a height of about 14 meters from his room's balcony on the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, and it is now even more evident how helpless he was in his final hours. This is despite the fact that his then-partner, Kate Cassidy, and his friend testified that the star was completely sober during the two weeks he spent with them in Argentina. After the two left the country and left him alone, according to the investigation file, he entered a rapid downward spiral. On the last day of his life, he began to exhibit aggressive behavior that worried the hotel staff. In the reception staff's WhatsApp group, the hotel manager warned: "This person is going to be very intense during his stay. It is important that we say 'no' to him, always politely and with excuses." At the same time, a waitress was asked to bring five bottles of whiskey to his room (301), and colleagues warned her: "Take security with you when you go up." Additionally, photos were revealed of hotel staff carrying ice buckets loaded with alcohol, a receipt indicating that Payne spent $664,300 on Johnnie Walker whiskey bottles ordered to his room, and a photo in which he is seen begging the reception staff to get him drugs. It is also alleged that Payne made contact through an escort site with 32-year-old Aldana Serrano, who arrived at the hotel with her friend, 29-year-old Lucila Goita. In the security footage, the two are seen arriving at the reception desk and then walking with the singer to his room, a few hours before his death. The two, who spent time with him in the room and had consensual sex with him, told investigators that Payne sang to them from his repertoire, but later began asking for cocaine. When it came time to pay them the pre-agreed amount — $5,000 — it turned out he had no cash in the room. A loud argument developed between the parties, until the two left the premises. Just an hour before his death, Payne was seen in the hotel lobby, slumped and withdrawn. Shortly thereafter, he fell to his death. The autopsy and toxicology report found traces of cocaine, alcohol, and clonazepam in his system. Two hotel employees were charged with supplying drugs to the singer and even sat in jail before being released on bail, while denying the allegations. His father, Geoff Payne, summarized the tragedy to the prosecutors:
"That was just not Liam."
