Infrastructure works: Israel Railways announces service disruptions this weekend
From August 20 to 22, train schedules in the Zevulun area will be adjusted due to planned maintenance. Several stations will be temporarily closed, with free shuttle bus services provided. Normal service is expected to resume on the morning of Sunday, August 23.
Israel Railways announced on Tuesday that significant changes to train traffic in the Haifa and northern regions are scheduled for the coming days due to infrastructure, maintenance, and safety works in the Zevulun area. These works were strategically planned for the summer, a period when demand for rail travel is relatively low.
The service adjustments will be in effect from Thursday, August 20, through Saturday night, August 22. During this time, trains on the Modi'in Central-Nahariya line—including night services—as well as trains on the Be'er Sheva Central-Karmiel and Nahariya lines, will operate only as far as Haifa Center-HaShmona station and will not continue northward.
Consequently, the following stations will be temporarily closed to rail traffic: Nahariya, Akko, Ahihud, Karmiel, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Hutzot HaMifratz, and Merkazit HaMifratz. Additionally, services on the Haifa Hof HaCarmel-Karmiel line and the Atlit-Beit She'an line will be suspended, and the stations of Yokneam-Kfar Yehoshua, Migdal HaEmek-Kfar Baruch, Afula, and Beit She'an will also be closed.
Israel Railways will provide free shuttle bus services from Haifa Center-HaShmona station to northern destinations. Regular bus lines in the area will also be reinforced to ensure travel continuity.
Passengers are advised to check the latest schedules and service updates via the company's website, mobile app, the 5770 service center, or the official WhatsApp channel before traveling.
Full train service is expected to resume on Sunday, August 23, upon the completion of the works. Israel Railways apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the passengers' understanding.
