Phone stolen in Tel Aviv — containing the last memories of a brother killed in Lebanon

A birthday outing for siblings May and Roi Lizer in Tel Aviv ended last week with the theft of Roi's mobile phone — a device that, according to them, contained the last memories of their younger brother Nehorai, who was killed about two months ago in Lebanon by a Hezbollah suicide drone. On Monday, the siblings shared the story and asked whoever has the device to return it to them.

According to the siblings, the incident occurred on Tuesday around 04:00 AM. After finishing their outing, they sat on a bench on Rothschild Boulevard, and at some point, Roi's phone was stolen.

"There are photos and conversations there between Roi and my little brother Nehorai, who was killed in Lebanon two months ago," said May. "The phone had photos of him with the family, final conversations from Lebanon, all the documentation and all the things that were between them. We must have the phone back."

For Roi, May says, the value of the device is not monetary. The phone contains a personal record of his connection with his brother, and the family members are asking to get back primarily the memories stored within it. "Roi just asks that they return the phone to him. This is what he has from our brother who was killed, and it is important to him," she said.

May appealed directly to whoever stole or received the device and asked them to return it to the family. "I want to appeal to the thieves — return the phone," she said. According to her, the family has information that the device, which was in a transparent case, later reached a business. "If anyone received the phone or knows where it is, please update us."
