TikTok has removed a promotional video for the investigative documentary program "Zman Emet" (Real Time) produced by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan), which features exclusive surveillance footage from Soroka Medical Center on October 7. The platform claimed the content violated community guidelines regarding "misleading information."

The video, posted to TikTok by journalist Roni Singer, contained previously unreleased CCTV footage from Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba during the first 24 hours of the war. The footage documents the arrival of the wounded in private cars and ambulances from the massacres and music festivals, alongside hundreds of families anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones at the emergency room entrance.

TikTok's Justification and Official Response

According to the formal notice sent to Singer, TikTok stated that it does not permit "misleading information that may cause significant harm to individuals or society," citing policies against false information related to public safety, crises, or major civic events that could cause widespread panic.

Kan criticized the decision, sharply rebuking the classification of real-time historical footage from a hospital as "misleading or false," and contacted TikTok's local representatives for clarification.

Soroka's Role on October 7

On October 7, 2023, Soroka Medical Center stood at the forefront of the crisis, treating more than 670 wounded individuals under fire within a single 24-hour period—an unprecedented medical event by global standards.

"The upcoming episode brings to light the grueling reality faced by medical teams who left their families behind to embark on the hardest shift of their lives, saving countless lives under unimaginable pressure."

The full documentary, hosted by Chen Liberman and Roni Singer, is set to be broadcast on Kan 11.
