Teva Target Price Raised to $50 by Leader Capital Markets Following Weltruza Approval
Leader Capital Markets raised Teva's target price to $50 with a "Buy" rating following FDA approval for Weltruza, stronger financials, and an investment-grade credit rating recovery across major agencies.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries continues its strategic transformation from a company grappling with heavy debt and generic erosion into an innovative drugmaker expanding its proprietary portfolio and strengthening its financials. Leader Capital Markets has raised Teva's target price to $50 while maintaining a "Buy" rating, driven by regulatory approval for the Weltruza medication, robust business momentum, and the return to investment-grade ratings from all three major agencies.
The pivotal development is the FDA approval of Weltruza, based on the active ingredient olanzapine, for treating schizophrenia in adults. Approved on October 9, 2026, the drug is administered via monthly subcutaneous injections without the need for post-injection monitoring, a loading dose, or concurrent oral pills, significantly easing patient use and clinic burdens.
Financial Recovery and Debt Optimization
Alongside drug development, Teva is benefiting from an improved financial profile. The company regained investment-grade ratings across the board: S&P at BBB, Fitch at BBB, and Moody's at Baa3, all with stable outlooks. Additionally, Teva completed a debt refinancing of approximately $4.9 billion through bonds maturing between 2032 and 2037, designed to extend debt duration and lower financing costs.
"The combination of proprietary product pipelines, balance sheet improvements, and efficiency progress strengthens visibility toward achieving 2027 targets, despite near-term volatility," noted Sabina Levy, Head of Research at Leader Capital Markets.
Outlook and Upcoming Q3 Earnings
Teva's efficiency program is projected to yield net savings of approximately $700 million by 2027, with roughly two-thirds of the savings materializing already in 2026. Gross margins are expected to reach 57% to 58% by 2027, while operating profitability is targeted at around 30%, and free cash flow is projected to exceed $2.7 billion.
Teva's third-quarter 2026 financial results are scheduled for release on November 3. Consensus forecasts point to revenues of roughly $4.246 billion, an adjusted EBITDA of $1.352 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of 72 cents.
