United Torah Judaism Plans Post-Election Kingmaker Strategy for Draft Law
MK Yaakov Tessler revealed United Torah Judaism's post-election strategy to act as kingmakers and condition joining any coalition on passing the draft exemption law.

MK Yaakov Tessler of United Torah Judaism has outlined the party's post-election strategy, revealing plans to leverage their position as kingmakers to advance the controversial military draft exemption bill.
Speaking at a recent parlor meeting, Tessler disclosed that representatives from Degel HaTorah and Agudat Israel held extensive discussions to formulate a unified approach. According to the lawmaker, forming a government without United Torah Judaism will be mathematically impossible, even without the partnership of Shas.
"If neither bloc can form a government without us, it doesn't matter who we align with, they will be forced to come to us," Tessler explained in the leaked recording.
Under the agreed-upon strategy, the ultra-Orthodox faction has pledged not to enter any coalition at all costs until the draft exemption legislation is secured. Tessler stressed that the party remains agnostic regarding whether it joins a right-wing bloc led by Benjamin Netanyahu or an alternative coalition, as long as their legislative demands are fully met.
