"Terrorist-settler": Indictment against the impostor "Tarzan" who threatened Zvi Sukkot and Itamar Ben Gvir
A 30-year-old resident of Shuafat is accused of impersonating a person with whom he was in a dispute, sending messages via a fake profile, and threatening MK Zvi Sukkot. The indictment was filed following an investigation conducted by the Lahav 433 unit.
The police stated that following an investigation by the Lahav 433 cyber unit, an indictment was filed on Sunday against a 30-year-old resident of Shuafat who called himself "Tarzan". The suspect impersonated another person with whom he was in a dispute to seek revenge and threatened several senior officials, including MK Zvi Sukkot and the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.
During July, the suspect used the identity of an acquaintance as his profile picture. Under this fake identity, he sent a photo of a pistol, a magazine, and bullets to the coordinator of the Shuafat refugee camp, writing: "I have a gun at home and I shoot every day openly..."
In addition, the suspect sent the following message to Zvi Sukkot on Facebook:
"Zvi Sukkot, you piece of a terrorist-settler... the time will come for you to fly to hell, you dog..."
Following the report to the Israel Police, the Lahav 433 cyber unit opened an investigation, identified the suspect, and arrested him for questioning. After establishing an evidentiary basis for the threats, the prosecution filed an indictment and a request for detention until the end of proceedings, which the court granted.
It was previously reported that "Tarzan", a Hamas activist from East Jerusalem, sent a message to Zvi Sukkot containing photos of a weapon and bullets with the caption: "I always have a weapon, I travel without security checks, I will kill you when I see you."
Due to the severity of the threat, the Knesset and the police officially raised the threat level for Zvi Sukkot to level 4. Following a security assessment, it was decided to reinforce his security detail and tighten protection measures.
Additional threats were received following tours that Zvi Sukkot conducted in schools in the Arab sector as part of his parliamentary activity as chairman of the Education Committee.
