Attempted murder in Tamra: 28-year-old local resident charged with shooting
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting a resident of Tamra at a bicycle repair shop and fleeing the scene. The getaway vehicle was located in Haifa, and drugs not intended for personal use were seized during a search of the suspect's home.
A shooting incident that occurred about a month ago at a bicycle repair shop in Tamra resulted in the filing of an indictment today, Thursday, against a 28-year-old local resident. He is suspected of opening fire on people present at the shop and subsequently fleeing the scene.
The shooting took place on July 4 while others were present at the business. As a result, a local resident sustained moderate to serious injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment while sedated and intubated.
Following the incident, an investigation was launched, and police reported that investigators identified the suspect within a few hours. He was arrested, and the vehicle suspected of being used for his escape was later located hidden in Haifa.
According to the police, during the arrest, substances suspected to be drugs were seized at the suspect's home in quantities not intended for personal use.
The Haifa District Attorney's Office has filed an indictment against the suspect in the Haifa District Court, alongside a request to remand him in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
Police added that more than 570 weapons have been seized in the Northern District since the beginning of the year.
