Three Undocumented West Bank Residents Arrested in Tel Aviv for Property Theft
Three undocumented West Bank residents were arrested in Tel Aviv for property offenses after police caught two driving stolen cars and a third riding a stolen bicycle.
Three West Bank residents staying in Israel without permits were arrested in Tel Aviv over the past 24 hours on suspicion of property offenses. Two of them were caught driving stolen vehicles, while a third was arrested riding a stolen electric bicycle.
Last night, officers from the Tel Aviv North police station spotted a car with a shattered window. A check revealed that the vehicle had just been stolen from the Tel Aviv-Yafo neighborhood of Tel Baruch. The officers signaled the driver to stop, but he allegedly accelerated and tried to flee. The car was later stopped at a police roadblock. The driver, a 22-year-old resident of Jericho without entry permits, was arrested after resisting officers.
In a separate incident overnight, station officers located a car stolen minutes earlier from the Tzahala neighborhood as it headed toward Route 5. The driver, a 23-year-old resident of Al-Arroub without permits, was arrested and taken for questioning. In a third case in north Tel Aviv, officers stopped an electric bicycle rider for traffic violations. He turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of the Hebron hills staying illegally, and the bike was stolen. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court for remand extensions.
