Teen Arrested in Tel Aviv Over Reckless Sur-Ron Motorcycle Escape
A 16-year-old in Tel Aviv was arrested for riding a Sur-Ron electric motorcycle without a license and fleeing police, as part of a Yarkon Subdistrict traffic crackdown.

A 16-year-old minor, the son of a prominent contractor, was arrested in Tel Aviv on suspicion of reckless driving on a Sur-Ron electric motorcycle along Menachem Begin Road. According to police sources, the teenager operated the vehicle without a valid driver's license and lacking license plates, attempting to evade Yarkon Subdistrict traffic police officers during pursuit.
Following the police investigation, the suspect was released, while the electric motorcycle was confiscated by law enforcement authorities. The teenager's father accompanied him to a formal traffic investigator hearing at the Yarkon Subdistrict headquarters.
The arrest took place as part of a targeted traffic enforcement campaign conducted by Yarkon Subdistrict police over the past week. During the operation, officers issued 522 traffic violation citations, confiscated 23 micro-mobility vehicles, and detained five drivers.
Police officials noted that the Sur-Ron functions as a high-powered motorcycle requiring an official motorcycle license. Law enforcement highlighted that criminal elements increasingly utilize these vehicles due to their accessibility and relatively low cost for committing serious offenses.
