Tel Aviv Police Arrest Armed Scooter Suspects After Wild Chase
Tel Aviv police and Border Police arrested two suspects on an electric scooter carrying a loaded firearm after a reckless high-speed chase through city streets.
Police officers in southern Tel Aviv, operating alongside Border Police forces, successfully thwarted a violent incident late Saturday night by arresting two suspects riding an electric scooter while armed with a loaded handgun ready to fire. The operation took place during a routine patrol when officers noticed the pair committing traffic violations that endangered the public.
Upon realizing they were spotted, the suspects fled recklessly on their scooter, running red lights and driving against traffic. Following a brief pursuit, border police executed a tactical blockade, leading to the immediate apprehension of the riders.
A subsequent search of the suspects revealed a loaded firearm concealed in one of their pockets. The two individuals, aged 19 and 36, were arrested on the spot and transferred for further interrogation at the southern Tel Aviv police station, with a court appearance scheduled for a custody extension hearing.
