A report by the Freedom of Information Movement reveals that the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality collected 573 million shekels from parking and transit lane fines between 2024 and May 2026.

The Freedom of Information Movement released a report covering municipal fine data in Tel Aviv from 2024 through May 2026. According to the findings, the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality issues approximately one million parking and public transportation lane tickets annually, generating massive municipal revenues.
Between 2024 and May 2026, the municipality collected about 573 million shekels strictly from traffic and parking fines. Out of thousands of appeals submitted by drivers seeking to cancel their tickets, only about 36% were approved by city authorities.
The report also highlighted a group of serial offenders, noting that roughly 120,000 individuals received more than ten tickets each year. The Freedom of Information Movement continues to advocate for public transparency, enhanced oversight of public authorities, and civic engagement.
