Tel Aviv police announced today (Thursday) the solution of a murder case that took place at the end of August on Leib Ben Sara Street in Jaffa. Following an extensive investigation, a prosecutor's statement was recently filed against a 22-year-old resident of the city on suspicion of committing the act.

The victim in Jaffa was Muhammad Rafat Ahmad Katuwan, a resident of Qalansawe. Katuwan, about 30 years old, was found on Leib Ben Sara Street unconscious and suffering from severe penetrating injuries.

The severe incident occurred in the early hours of August 30. According to the suspicion, the suspect rode a Surron motorcycle and ambushed two men who were inside a vehicle in a side parking lot. He fired at them from close range and immediately fled the scene.

Following a report received at the 100 emergency hotline, large police forces from the Tel Aviv District arrived at the scene. The forces located the two wounded men, who were evacuated by medical personnel for treatment. At the Wolfson Medical Center, doctors were forced to pronounce the death of one of them, a resident of Jaffa who was evacuated in critical condition, while the second man was seriously injured.
