Man Drowns in Tel Aviv as Toddler Is Rescued in Bat Yam Beach Incident
A 30-year-old man was pulled unconscious from the water near Tel Aviv's Tel Baruch beach and rushed to the hospital. Earlier, a two-year-old girl was rescued in moderate condition from a beach in Bat Yam.
A man in his 30s drowned today (Saturday) south of the Tel Baruch beach in Tel Aviv. He was pulled from the water unconscious, and MDA paramedics performed CPR before evacuating him to a nearby hospital.
Shortly before this incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old toddler drowned at Sela Beach in Bat Yam. She was evacuated in moderate condition to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
MDA paramedic Lior Paz and senior EMT Kfir Varsano stated:
"When we arrived at the beach, we joined the lifeguards who were providing initial treatment to the toddler. We were told they saw her drowning and pulled her to the shore. She was unconscious, and we provided life-saving medical treatment, including oxygen, until she recovered and opened her eyes."
Series of Water Tragedies
This incident follows a string of recent drownings across the country. Last Friday, a 7-year-old boy drowned in a lake at Darom Park in Tel Aviv. Following extensive searches, he was located, pulled from the water, and evacuated to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
About a month ago, Ian Munir Abu-Amar from Lakiya in the Negev was pronounced dead at Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva. He had drowned a week prior in a public swimming pool in the town of Omer and had been hospitalized in serious condition.
Just a day before that, a 12-year-old boy was pulled lifeless from the Jordan River following extensive searches after his boat capsized near Yesod HaMa'ala in the Hula Valley.
