Tel Aviv Landlord Discovers Body of 61-Year-Old Tenant in Apartment
A Tel Aviv landlord checking on an uncommunicative 61-year-old tenant found his body in an advanced state of decomposition on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a police investigation.

A tragic discovery was made in Tel Aviv on Wednesday afternoon when a landlord went to collect rent from a 61-year-old tenant and found his apartment locked. The landlord, identified as A., grew concerned after failing to reach the tenant by phone.
«I called him several times, but he did not answer. He always answers. I decided to come to the apartment to collect the rent,» A. told rescue services. Upon arrival, he knocked repeatedly on the door without receiving a response, prompting him to alert the police and emergency responders.
Police officers and rescue personnel who forced their way into the apartment discovered the tenant's body in an advanced state of decomposition. Authorities noted that the 61-year-old man had a habit of hoarding items inside the residence.
ZAKA volunteers handled the remains with care, and the body was transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
