Israeli television viewers will experience a deeply emotional and poignant moment tonight during the prime-time broadcast on Keshet 12. Less than a year after her tragic passing, the late model and actress Tal Berkovich will appear in her final television role, filmed shortly before her death. The second episode of the new thriller series "The Escape" is set to air tonight, with the creators and the network dedicating the broadcast entirely to honoring her memory.

The Plot of "The Escape"

The plot of "The Escape" follows Joel Har-Tzion (Ido Tako), a young man who barely escapes from a secluded and mysterious cult named "Kingdom of Heaven" deep in the forests of Colombia. While attempting to rescue his wife and son left behind with the assistance of a former security official (Yehuda Levi), he seeks refuge at a local Chabad House. Berkovich portrays the rabbi's wife—alongside Yaki Reisner—providing shelter and sanctuary to the fleeing fugitive during dramatic moments of pursuit.

A Career Cut Short

Her posthumous screen appearance reopens the grief over the loss that shook the cultural world last January. Berkovich, who had relocated her life abroad, was visiting Israel for a brief homecoming holiday when her life was abruptly and tragically cut short in a fatal car accident on Route 40. Her appearance on screen marks a final testament to a rich and unique career.

"We saw a crushed vehicle with an unconscious woman trapped inside suffering from extremely severe injuries," recalled Magen David Adom medic Anas Al-Asam, who arrived at the scene. "Unfortunately, her injuries were critical, and we had no choice but to pronounce her dead at the scene."

Tonight, viewers bid a final farewell to Berkovich on the screen where she always felt so natural, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy in Israeli entertainment.
