Surprise: Young Thug sent a "shout-out to Israelis" in his new album

Young Thug, the successful rapper from Atlanta, released a new album two hours and forty minutes long titled Slime Language 3. Those who listen at least until the 14th song, Øway Remix, will find a surprising line that repeats twice throughout the song: "Shout-out to overseas, love is mad real. I’m talking Middle East, I’m talking Israelis." Some listeners claimed that this is a hint at the rapper Nine Vicious, who was seen last July at a concert in Prague, waving an Israeli flag given to him by a fan. Others claimed that Young Thug "sold out" to the Israelis or the Jews, in a series of comments that raise once again the scents of an antisemitic conspiracy. "He is trying to shorten his probation," wrote one commenter in an attempt to explain the mention of Israel in the song. Thug was arrested on suspicion of organized crime offenses and received a significant sentence: five years in prison, 15 years of probation, and 20 years if he violates the terms of his release. Others pointed to the fact that Thug was seen visiting Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto last November, similar to another controversial rapper: Kanye West. Either way, whether fans appreciate the Israeli mention or are repelled by it, most agree that Thug's new album is a disappointment: "I came to this album with very low expectations and was still disappointed," one critic summarized.
