Crypto Token Standard Surges 1,141% in First Hours Amid New Economic Model
STANDARD token from The Standard Reserve surged 1,141% in hours, trading at 31.6 cents with a $31 million market cap, introducing an automated monetary code.

The cryptocurrency market has seen many coins surge by hundreds or thousands of percent, but this time the story comes with an unusual concept. STANDARD, the token of The Standard Reserve project, registered a surge of about 1,141% within its first few hours of trading, according to blockchain analytics tools.
At the time of inspection, the token was trading around 31.6 cents, with a market capitalization of roughly $31 million and liquidity of about $15.2 million. However, the most critical figure is the age of the STANDARD/ETH trading pair, which was created just about 18 hours prior. This means the asset is at the very beginning of its journey, and the extraordinary percentages alone do not indicate established success.
Instead of a central bank or a committee deciding policy, the system monitors the inflow and outflow of ETH relative to the main liquidity pool. When more ETH flows in, the protocol can increase its issuance rate; when money flows out, it is designed to reduce issuance and allocate part of the revenues to purchasing and burning STANDARD tokens, effectively removing them from circulation.
According to an analysis by MONI Research, the model attempts to address a well-known issue in such projects: a scenario where users profit from token issuance but rush to sell them, thereby exerting heavy downward pressure on the price. Nevertheless, the same analysis emphasizes that the mechanism still needs to be tested under real market conditions.
The project features an ambitious economic mechanism and an idea that attempts to translate monetary policy into code, but it lacks a long history proving how the system functions during periods of sharp downturns. A surge of more than 1,000% certainly catches the eye, but in crypto, especially during a new token's initial hours, it also comes with exceptional volatility and risk.
