Grave suspicion: 13 and 14-year-olds raped and injured a girl with special needs in the Sharon region

Two minors, aged approximately 13 and 14, were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of raping a peer with special needs over the weekend in the Sharon region and causing her physical injuries. The police have launched an investigation and are currently examining whether the victim was harmed on more than one occasion, as well as the possibility that other individuals were involved in the acts.

The incident came to light after a neighbor heard the girl screaming and contacted the police. Officers arrived at the scene, initiated an investigation, and arrested the two suspects. Both were interrogated and subsequently remanded in custody as the investigation continues.

At this stage, investigators are working to determine whether the weekend incident was an isolated case. Authorities are specifically checking reports that the victim may have been assaulted on other dates and whether other children were involved in the abuse.

Previous cases of sexual assault against minors

This case joins other investigations into serious sexual offenses against minors in recent years. In November 2024, 15 minors were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Migdal HaEmek. According to the investigation in that case, the acts occurred in multiple stages and at different locations. That matter is a separate affair and is not related to the current investigation.
