Suspicion: Minors beat a 64-year-old man due to a dispute over a crosswalk
According to the suspicion, the minors passed by a crosswalk and the driver commented to them about it. When he exited his vehicle, the two began to beat him, continuing to kick him even after he fell to the ground, before fleeing the scene. The suspects will be brought before the court with a request to extend their detention.
On Monday, a report was received at the Israel Police emergency center regarding a violent incident on a street in Kiryat Gat, during which a 64-year-old local resident was attacked and sustained a head injury.
Following the report, officers from the Kiryat Gat station launched a search to locate those involved. Within a short time, the officers successfully identified and arrested two minor suspects, residents of the city, who were then transferred to the police station for further investigation.
According to the suspicion, the minors were passing by a crosswalk when the driver made a comment to them regarding their behavior. When he exited his vehicle, the two began to beat him. Even after he fell to the ground, they continued to kick him before fleeing the scene. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court today with a request to extend their detention.
Commander of the Kiryat Gat station, Superintendent Shai Elali, stated: "Officers of the Kiryat Gat station acted quickly and decisively to locate and arrest the suspects shortly after the incident. The Israel Police views any manifestation of violence with severity and will continue to work to bring those involved to justice, with the goal of maintaining public safety and well-being."
