Amid rising living costs in Israel, the Histadrut's "Social Supermarket" initiative has launched its "November Sale" campaign, running until November 21. The promotional drive introduces a dedicated anti-inflation category featuring deeply subsidized basic foodstuffs and household essentials at prices significantly below market averages.

Heavily Subsidized Basics

The centerpiece of the campaign is the steep discounting of essential household goods. For example, a one-liter bottle of canola oil is priced at just 2.70 NIS compared to the average market price of 9.90 NIS. A four-pack of tuna is offered at 7.90 NIS instead of 19.90 NIS, and a five-pack of "Reizi" spaghetti costs only 10 NIS compared to the usual 24.50 NIS.

Additional hygiene and pantry items include a three-pack of Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection toothpaste for 9.90 NIS (down from 23.70 NIS), "HaShachar HaAleh" chocolate spread (500 grams) for 9.90 NIS instead of 15.90 NIS, and a three-pack of thick wet wipes by the Social Supermarket brand for 8.90 NIS.

Broad Discounts Across Categories

Alongside the subsidized goods, the sale features storewide price cuts on popular food and cleaning products. A one-kilogram package of Barilla spaghetti is sold for 7.90 NIS, while a three-pack of MUTTI crushed tomatoes (400 grams each) is priced at 13.90 NIS compared to a 29.90 NIS market average. Cleaning and personal care products also see reductions, including a 72-pack of Finish Power dishwasher capsules for 39.90 NIS and Listerine Fresh Burst mouthwash (500 ml) for 9.90 NIS.

Idan Nasimi, CEO of the Social Supermarket, emphasized the initiative's core mission: "We operate continuously to combat the high cost of living, among other things by offering a dedicated category of essential basic products at subsidized prices, enabling the public to purchase necessary goods at fair rates."

Platform Details

The Social Supermarket operates as an online platform and app serving over 800,000 Histadrut union members, offering nationwide delivery within five to seven business days. Purchases require union membership verification, and item quantities are restricted per customer according to site regulations.
