An indictment was filed yesterday (Friday) at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against the son of a well-known singer, charging him with drug offenses. Initially, investigators from the Jerusalem District believed there was a basis to prosecute him for drug trafficking as well; however, during the investigation, sufficient evidentiary foundation for the trafficking charge did not materialize, and ultimately this count was excluded from the indictment.

According to the indictment, over half a kilogram of cannabis and hashish, distribution bags, and ready-made cannabis cigarettes were found in his vehicle. Text messages with customers were discovered on his phone. During interrogations, he exercised his right to remain silent, even when the findings were presented to him.

Recall that about a week and a half ago, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the remand of the singer's son by six days as part of a police investigation into suspected drug offenses. During the hearing, the police had requested an eight-day extension, arguing that the investigation was ongoing with numerous investigative steps remaining.

The suspect's defense attorney opposed the request, arguing that there was no justification to keep him in custody for eight days, noting that some of the actions could be carried out while the suspect was released under restrictive conditions.
